Acme Restaurant and Balancing Healthy Habits

Acme Restaurant and Balancing Healthy Habits

Living close to NYC certainly has its perks. One of them is being able to enjoy restaurant week (running until February 10th, so you still have some time to check it out!). I decided to change things up a bit this week on the blog and write a restaurant review. But before I get into all… Continue Reading

District Social NYC – Review

District Social NYC – Review

Last week I had planned a dinner with some fellow food bloggers that I met at the Everything Food Conference in Salt Lake City. I was really excited about meeting with them since I had not seen anyone from the conference since early June. Since we were all coming from outside Manhattan, we picked a place close to Penn Station to hang out, catch up and have some good food. I suggested District Social, it seemed to be in a convenient location and also I read good reviews. The drink menu was good, the food looked to be reasonable for NYC, and the atmosphere seemed to be pretty relaxed. Continue Reading

Speakeasy and more

I apologize in advance for my ignorance, but a Venezuelan living in the NY/NJ area sometimes doesn’t understand everything that happens in NYC, or why you guys call a hidden bar/restaurant or club a speakeasy. In any case, I was fortunate to venture into one a few weeks ago. I was excited about visiting the… Continue Reading

Gods, Easter Bunnys & Bag Pipe Band

I took a trip into Manhattan yesterday. The train ride was actually nice, the person who sat next to me before going into Penn Station started talking to me about our common interest in food. I also mentioned to her that I write about doing some local tourism in the city, and she said she… Continue Reading

A Taste of Early Spring

I went into NYC since the forecast promised temperatures above the 70’s degF and sunny. For those who have experience with winter, you know by the time March hits, you are ready to start warming up and for Spring to finally arrive. Don’t get me wrong, I learned to love winter, I get a chance… Continue Reading

Back to Back NYC – Part 2

Wow! Where do I begin? In a way that was my feeling at the start of my day, and definitely my feeling at the end of today. I took the train from NJ into Penn Station, no plans, no itinerary, just a day in NYC. I was supposed to go in with a friend, but… Continue Reading

Back to Back NYC – Part 1

I love exploring NYC. This time I had a great excuse to go in. It was my friend’s birthday and we had made reservations at Parker & Quinn in Midtown Manhattan. Great place, I would definitely recommend it, but before getting there, I had to walk around an explore a bit. I was done with… Continue Reading

Lunar New Year 2016

Adventure day in NYC! I love this city. It has so much to offer. Through Facebook I found out that there was a free show/performance at Brookfield Place by the World Trace Center in Downtown Manhattan. The show was set to celebrate the Lunar New Year – Year of the Monkey!   I invited a few… Continue Reading
