Hi! I’m Lennis
I’m so happy we have found each other!
I’m a wellness coach navigating life just like everyone else.
My story is of course unique, because all of our stories are…but I have so many things in common with other awesome human beings as well.
Let me backtrack and tell you a bit of my story.
At 18 I was suffering from high cholesterol, a wonderful trait I inherited from my family. Yay for genetics! (sarcasm here)
By 19, I was diagnosed with H. Pylori – a bacteria that affected my digestive system and is known for causing stomach ulcers and could potentially lead to cancer if left unattended (I got this one from pigging out and eating food from street vendors in Venezuela!)
For the next decade I was “trying” to eat healthy, but would often fall off the wagon.
During this whole process I saw a dietitian, who gave me a meal plan for a week.
I would stick to it until I felt better, then went back to my old habits.
Her food plan was ABSOLUTELY BORING!
It worked, but I couldn’t get my self to eat on this plan for more than 3 weeks in a row.
Little by little I realized that my health was getting too much in the way of my life.
I was only in my 20’s and was already having joint pain and serious sleep issues, besides the usual extra pounds.
It took me another decade to finally figure out what worked for me and my body.
I learned to embrace my uniqueness. This is why I created Cook Dance Love Live.
It was originally intended to be my little online corner where I shared my passions, hence the name!
I loved to Cook, absolutely feel amazing after a good Dance session.
After getting divorced before my 33rd birthday and getting laid-off from my job a month after my divorce was finalized, I embarked on a journey of learning to Love myself.
Oh and did I mentioned that my 59 year old mother ended up moving in with me from Venezuela in the middle of my life crisis?!!!!
I learned to embraced my shortcomings and set a goal to Live my dream life, one day at a time.
Funny how everything can change in just a few short years!!!
By 35, I found myself becoming my Dad’s primary caregiver.
He is suffering from an autoimmune disease, being treated as psoriasis and this whole concept of Cook Dance Love Live means something completely different now. You can read more about it here.
So, what exactly do I do?
I’m a wellness coach, meaning I help you identify how to stay focused and not lose your SHIT when life doesn’t go as plan or you are feeling overwhelmed.
I learned how to use wellness tools to keep me balanced and with these tools (food habits, meditation, EFT, etc) I’m staying clear of having to check into a mental institution (oh did I mentioned that my genes also include depression, anxiety, and schizophrenia?)
What the hell were my parents thinking when they decided to have kids? SMH
What does it all mean?
I support incredible ladies who find themselves overwhelmed when it comes to staying healthy and making their well-being a priority.
Meaning, I give you strategies to help YOU be there for their loved ones and all the different demands we have in this modern world while still building YOUR dream life.
Yes, it is possible and YOU can do it!
Let me help! save some time for us to sit down and have an easy 30-minute conversation here.
Fun fact #1: I was born and raised in Venezuela and moved to the US when I was 17 years old.
I am a chemical engineer and graduated with my Masters in Engineering from Manhattan College.
I came from an engineering family (Dad & Brother), so it made sense for me as a young teenager to follow that career path.
I am also certified in plant-based nutrition and I’m obsessed with all things HEALTH!
I love hiking, visiting national parks and traveling whenever possible.
I share my passion for cooking on my YouTube channel.
Fun fact #2: I have videos on my channel in both English and Spanish and have been told that Spanish was not my native language because on some of the videos I was so nervous I actually have a strange Spanish accent!
Looking forward to connecting 🙂
